![]() I'm pretty good at scaffolding the material. I smile a lot, but am not super over the top. LPs can see your lifetime cancel rate and it doesn't matter if they are soft or not, they don't want to put kids with teachers that might cancel. I know shit happens beyond our control and sometimes people can't help but cancel, but I do believe that is a huge reason why some teachers struggle. ![]() I have not missed a single class this 2nd contract. Probably one of the biggest things is that in a full year and 1,600 classes, I have only canceled 4 classes in one night (so 1 cancellation) when I was really sick and that was in my 1st contract. If a kid does cancel outside of 24 hours I will always close the slot and reopen within 24 hours and always get a short notice class (90% trial, 10% new to me MC or supplemental). If I ever feel like making more money for something in particular, I will open more slots and they get booked. The other 40% is mostly kids I see sporadically or who don't want a set time every week with a few new students peppered in. I do about 30 classes a week and all of them are booked with about 60% of them being Priority Requests from regulars two weeks out. This week is my 1 year anniversary with VIPKid! I am not a B&M teacher, but I have a lot of experience working with kids. no idea why I have luck except maybe having built up a good base of students who recommend me, and a LP who looks out for me maybe? I teach all levels (have literally only taught four Pre-VIP/Level 1 classes though) and all the supplementary courses available to me. I haven't updated my video or pictures from the first ones I posted when I start. I did teach ESL in Asia for four years but my dayjob and degree are not in education. I have only 5-apple ratings, but a very basic classroom and simple rewards and props. The same kids keep coming back no matter if I teach them once or six times a week, at 4pm or 9.30pm their time (when that was a thing!). I think I have a Learning Partner who suggests me to compatible students, especially those who do not want a regular time each week. The days and times I work are very inconsistent and I have also taken about 6 months off total (counting week-long holidays, a few weeks off here and there, a few month-long holidays). Sometimes months and months of only teaching 8 on a single day, sometimes a few months of 70 over a week. I have taught 8 to 70 classes a week since March 2017. ![]() Fully booked means all the classes I open and want to teach are booked.
